There is nothing minimalist about this landscape. In a way it is almost overwhelming in its tangled complexity and beauty. I find it a difficult landscape to photograph on a clear day in bright sun. I was skiing here the day before in diffused ethereal light, but regrettably, I did not take my camera. I am here often in the winter, though…

The River in full-on winter. There is no shortage of snow here to welcome in the new year. It is crisp and beautiful.

It is beautifully snowy here now. The trees are bent under the weight of it and the landscape is white and softly focused. These pictures are from yesterday – lots of snow was falling but some of it was melting and reforming into tiny drops of suspended worlds. Today those little worlds are frozen.
A Winter welcome.




To give you an idea of size; I think this little drop is suspended from a spider web. I have a picture of the drop focused perfectly but you can’t see the little world inside…
