I love your “post processing”. It is always a surprise to me that I am absolutely useless with the post process [maybe that’s the reason I usually don’t like “manipulations” on my photographs!]
it’s like a visual poem… the song of ophelia… from nature’s point of view. very moving to take in. the weave of texture and dimension is visually stunning.
Hi Ines, thanks very much, I appreciate your comment!
Yes, I have posted many images that are in-camera double exposures. They are so fun to make.
Have you tried this also?
Thanks, Trish. That one reminds me of an old faded storybook illustration for some reason. It appears to be not quite a photograph but not quite an illustration either.
Beautiful again. This time they strike me as being taken in the aftermath of some pagan ritual. They’ve got a really powerful pull to them, or a yearning, like something from an Arcadian dream. Your compositions are out of this world, Karen.
These are so beautiful, Karen. The colors subtle – just right, no glaring detail that says “Here are apples”.
Thank you, Judy.
…and so beautiful…like little Ophelia´s laying in there, waiting…
I didn’t see her … ; )
Thank you, Kari.
The first shot is particularly striking. Very nice color, composition, and texture.
Thank you, Melanie!
Marvelous additions to the series! So much to entertain the eye.
Much thanks, Elena.
This is turning into a lovely series..Hard to choose but then I don’t have to 😉 but I will anyway! I love the painterly nature of the last one ..
: )
Beautiful.
Thank you, Tom.
These are just superb Karen. Really enjoying this series.
Hi Adrian, thanks very much, I’m glad you like them.

It’s probably better to get it straight from the camera anyway. Your photographs are born magical. : )
Good eye to spot this and very nicely done!
Much thanks, Phil!
These look like paintings!
They do a bit, don’t they? It is the way the layers come together.
Superb series, Karen. Love the layered surface reflections which add to a sense of mystery.
Hi Simon,
A bit of mystery good, thank you!

Thank you, David. I’m glad you like them. I seem to find much pleasure from making this type of work.
I get a feeling of the Renaissance. Very good ones, Karen.
Oh, thank you, Bente. A bit reminiscent perhaps of those dark(ish) still life paintings.
Your photos always remind me of paintings, they’re so beautiful! Did you ever try the double exposure on camera?
Hi Ines, thanks very much, I appreciate your comment!

Yes, I’ve been playing with the multiple exposures menu of my camera lately 🙂 It’s so fun and makes you be much more creative!
I was thinking vintage Victorian charm, but actually Renaissance fits better…or maybe even pre-Raphaelite. Very romantic, nonetheless.
Thank you, Scilla!
Especially like the colours in that last one 🙂
Thanks, Trish. That one reminds me of an old faded storybook illustration for some reason. It appears to be not quite a photograph but not quite an illustration either.
i love your layering technique.
Thank you, Kerri. It is most enjoyable making these, I’m glad you like them.
These are so complex…I like the second best. It seems to go in and out of happiness.
That’s an interesting observation. You have such a lovely way of expressing your thoughts. Thank you!
These are so beautiful Karen. The last one is so painterly – there is something ancient and rich about them, they are like brocade and velvet.
Your descriptions are beautiful. Sincere thanks, Anna.
All of them have the same poetic quality.
The fruit of the season in visuals…
Oooh! The greens in the top image are gorgeous! Well done.
Thank you, Micah!
This is like a trip to something I’d forgotten. How beautiful.

Besotted still life. I especially love the middle one.
All quite different to each other and all beautiful.
I just …. wow
Oh, this is just gorgeous. Something out of “The Mists of Avalon” or “Anne of Green Gables.”
Really beautiful and painterly, Karen.
They look like Ophelia … 🙂
