Hi Karen, I see we both saw frost feathers in Steve Gingold’s post yesterday! My comment was from a song I wrote some 31 years ago, for the passing of a beloved dog:
Now the feather flowers of frost unfold and stretch their long and icy fingers across my window pane
And I walk November’s frozen fields and listen for her steps to come and find me and I call her name
This has to be among the most fantastic frost displays I’ve ever seen. Escheresque and truly inspirational.
These images are amazing Karen! It is nature depicting other nature in its own way. So beautiful.
Thanks very much, Anna! I’m just luck it’s really, really cold I guess! Haha. Nature is pretty exquisite.
Wonderful. Almost like an abstract vision of a flock of birds.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for your comment!
Incredible! Brilliant!
Thanks for your enthusiasm! : ) nature blows me away sometimes with it’s creativity.
Fabulous Karen! Just perfect 😀
Thanks Kate! A mosaic of sorts. : )
fantastic, Karen
Thanks you! : )
Amazingly they looks like the birds = well captured Karen.
I was thinking the same thing. Like they are leaving the land and taking flight. Thanks Yoshi!
Wonderful!!!
Thank you Craig!
Beautiful. I love how some of the members of the flock are light on dark and others are dark on light.
Thanks Linda. They play of light caught me eye too.
Exquisite, Karen. I love your imagery of birds and also finding wonder every day. It’s always out there. Wishing you a creative 2019.
It is always out there! Thanks Jane. : )
You caught amazing images! Beautiful! The last one reminds me of a Japanese woodcut.
I often think certain frost formations have a lovely Japanese aesthetic. Thank you!
Fantastic, Karen. I have always enjoyed your bird and window frost images and here they are now, naturally merged together!
I guess it was bound to happen eventually! Hehe. Thanks very much Mic!
🙂
Exquisite work Karen. Love the association with birds taking flight and the Japanese aesthetic. A beautiful depiction revealed by nature.
Amazing “frozen birds”!
Nature is so wonderful. Looking close, we can see plenty of “paintings”.
These are just wonderful! They take me places. Thank you.
Like angels tumbling about heaven…ha, ha..that is how I imagine heaven to be! Well done
Utterly beautiful and very well seen Karen
These are beautiful. I’m reminded of the sandpipers that visit our region in August each year. What a creative eye you have 🙂
Prehistoric birds! Gorgeous.
That is, indeed, a flock of frost! How wonderful for you!
magique..merci karen !
Amazing! Beautiful; somehow reminds of some works of M.C. Escher..
Lovely interpretation Karen 🙂
There appear to be as many frost pictures as there are photographers, each one special in its own way.
A flock indeed! I love getting lost in these, Karen, thank you.
Now I have a hard time picking up a fave.. Love them all! 🙂
Wow!
