Moving under Trees November 5, 2016November 5, 2016 | drawandshoot Moving under trees dressed for autumn – leaves at dusk lit by streetlight. Colour sketches with a camera I think I’ll attempt this technique again as the composition (or something) in these images is lacking but I sort of dig this not-so-subtle colour combination. © Karen McRae, 2016 Share this:SharePinterestEmailTumblrFacebookTwitterLinkedInLike this:Like Loading... Beautiful colours. These would make beautiful fabric prints.
Thank you, Trish. That’s a cool idea!
I tried something similar yesterday but was not really convinced and want to try it again tomorrow. Your pictures are very inspiring!
Oh thank you! I’m not so sure that are that successful but I too want to try again.
I look forward to seeing the images you’ll make. : )
after my first tries i guess this will have to wait for the next fall season 😉
This is beautiful….absolutely stunning. I’m a photographer and I think you may like some of my stuff you should check out my blog 😊
Aw, thanks very much!
Every once in a while..you can be a bit bold with the colours…they are there for a reason, especially this year. Lovely series, as always.
Yes, mostly it seems I am drawn to the understated but I do love colour!
Thank you, Paula.
Beautiful tones! Brilliant!
I love this Karen. the red scarlets don’t seem, to be as brassy to my eyes at all with the soft and blurred edges diffusing the hue a bit. Very artistic and creative, Splendid! 🙂
I like the brashness of these colours – the images seem more like paintings than photos, especially the last one with its interesting textures.
Love this color combo! And the compositions seem fine to me…
Gorgeous, gorgeous, you!
Such stunning colour contrast, so vibrant. For me the bold colours, along with the painterly quality make the images work well. In my opinion if more elements or something more predominant was captured in the images I think it would hinder rather than help the image. As it is I as a viewer have the freedom to make my own choices rather than being forced into a view. Great work!
These are such beautiful photos, taking a new perspective on fall color. They add to the thoughtfulness of a Sunday morning. Thank you for posting.
magnifique karen, de vraies peintures…..merci…et belle journée!!
Autumn. My favorite color is autumn. (Beautifully captured! Wonder how they’d work in square format…)
Karen! How magical!! The colours are so vibrant! Love the blur of vision and the radiance of it all!!

I think this is great! The two colours really contrast with each other so it’s very eye catching.
The vibrant colors work really well with the tree impressions, Karen. Very creative.
