A little waterfall along one of the many creeks that rush (or trickle) into the now wide open river. It is only the water that’s in a hurry, it seems ~ spring is still dancing quite slowly across the landscape.
Hi David, thank you. These were made using a long exposure with the camera being hand held. That accounts for the general softness – a wee bit of camera movement but each image is a single exposure made in-camera.
So painterly, I love the 5th especially, and also the 2nd, with all the hatching marks. It’s amazing what you do with such a limited color palette, too.
Karen, for whatever wordpress reasons, I haven’t seen one of your posts in my reader for some weeks, and then this…
Stunning.
Makes me think of Turner, the painter.
Karen- I love the muted gray tones and the feeling of the water flowing.
Thank you, Jane. This is a colour palette that I never tire of. Have to catch those tones before everything greens up!
Really fascinating!
Well, they’re gorgeous. Are they superimposed, blended images?

Thanks. I couldn’t see any camera shake – steady hands 🙂
Some of the forms take on dreamy human/animal forms, for me. Can’t stop looking:)
So beautiful – love the movement and light you are creating, Karen – and hope spring will warm up soon for you! K
fantastic! “rivers know this: there is no hurry. we shall get there some day.”

What a rush. Thank you.
melting snow making a torrent out of a stream?
One of my favourite palettes. Beautiful.

Gorgeous, as usual and as expected!
Beautiful scenes with an interesting sensation of wonderment.
These are like romantic charcoal drawings… or aquatic fairy landscapes, depending on your point of view. Gorgeous. Love, love, love.
These are so gorgeous – conferneces of water elementals. Physics and poetry in violent conjunction.
Beautiful work, Karen! I always look forward to your posts.
Wonderful images Karen! So glad spring is progressing at full tilt! 🙂
This beautiful series sounds like a wonderful symphonic poem.

I love those before the greening colours too. Such beautiful images you make!
quelle belle série, une fois de plus !!! merci !
these pictures are easy to travel into…for some reason suited very well to the accompaniment of Jakob’s album Sines?! (for what it’s worth)
