Cicada1

Cicada2This cicada stopped by for a little rest near the back door and it didn’t seem to mind posing for pictures. I have sort of posted photographs of a cicada before. If you follow this link you’ll see what I mean.

On an unrelated note I’m very honoured to have work featured on the arts and humanities website Creative Thresholds. You can see that article here but if you have a few minutes I suggest having a look around the Creative Thresholds website!

  1. Congratulation Karen. you deserve to be selected into the C’ Threshold as the art
you created was really a class of your own. (nobody did, and nobody could copy)
(Despite the effort, so far, I couldn’t decipher your technique at all. 🙂 )

  2. The first picture really draws me in. So narrative without being talkative. All about the finiteness of life. About the being right now and the be gone in the next moment. I love this shot. Thanks for sharing, Karen.

    all the best,
    Roland

  3. Karen, congratulations on having your work featured! Well-deserved. I loved what you said about recreating our “childhood experiences where exploring the landscape was pure adventure”. And I think that’s what you are recreating in your pictures.

  4. My favorite is the first one, where you zoomed in the wings and there’s that beautiful light coming from one side. Congratulations on your feature!
