Feathery frost blooms sprouting on the window…we are back in deep winter… *The second image is an in-camera triple exposure (digital) of the same frost bloom.
How low does the temperature have to be, Karen, for these flowers to grow? I’ve never seen such a thing in reality. As well as blossoms they remind me of feathers and leaves.
Beautiful images as usual.
Thanks for catching up with my blog, I really appreciate the comments! I’m really looking forward to exploring more of Marija’s blog as well, so thank you for sending that link. After seeing your frost flowers yesterday, I looked more closely
at the frost on my windows this morning. You capture them so beautifully.
Cold and delicate. So beautiful, Karen!
Thank you, Ray. You are right about cold! : )

You certainly do have cold don’t you.. these fernlike frost blooms are lovely
Fascinating. Beautiful. A little scary, too: how unimaginably cold it must be…
I love how you expose nature’s clandestine manoeuvres, Karen. So delicate and utterly alien-seeming.

Even though the images are silvery grey, there are so many colours in them. beautiful subtlety.
They remind me of jelly fishes in a tank … (don’t ask me why 😉 )
they really do look just like flowers! You really find the subtle, delicate beauty in every tiny thing, Karen!
