Birds Falling like Leaves off Trees

The first real snow came yesterday and in late afternoon a large flock of starlings were braving the wet snow and wind, grazing the tops of trees and  falling like leaves from branches.

(I hope the GIF isn’t too annoying, it would be nice to be able to click on it and make it stop! Oh well…)

Through the Raindrops

Looking through the windshield on a rainy afternoon …

I made some photographs outside of the car, too, but it was this view through  wavering raindrops that truly caught my eye.

InandOutof-the-Hand11Tiny chickadees in and out of the hand. I feel these images may give a sense of the sensations; the whirr of the wings at your ear and the ever-so-gentle touching down on your fingertips. A quiet joy.
