A series of images made while on a paddling trip on a section of the beautiful and storied rivière Coulonge, Quebec. Technically these photographs are quite ‘low quality’ but somehow I feel they hint at expressing some of those stories of the rivers’ past.

Love the beautiful, dark toning…
they are wonderful.. in the shadows, mystery. in the light; enchantment. i love them.
Me too. 🙂
Oh, no. They’re really, really fabulous. They’re like drawings done with charcoal, blended, smeared, erased…. they’re spectacular.
Quite artistic and intriguing, if not even a little foreboding. I like this series.
The back-lit tree line in dark sepia is perfect with the misty foreground. Those two are my favorites. Thank you for sharing that melancholy beauty with me tonight. Fits my mood exactly.
Stunning, stunning stunning. Simply that.
The mood you’ve set and the story that is told is captivating. Wonderful set, Karen.
Just beautiful! Lovely set of images.
Watery, moody and magical … They’re a perfect fit for your subject. 🙂
I so look forward to your every post 😄
Quelle magnifique série…j’en aime tout particulièrement les portraits et personnage..merci pour ce beau moment..
Very suggestive and subtle image, thanks
You have created a mood here, Karen, most haunting
Beautiful series. It reminds me of expressionist paintings. Sometimes quality and pixels are simply overrated.
I add my voice to the words above..I love them all.
No low quality, Karen, very good work!
Beautiful Art. Karen !
I think these are outstanding images, Karen. Low quality certainly doesn’t refer to the end result.
Subtle, suggestive, wonderful.
Like a series of masterful charcoals, these images are exemplary. The campfire in particular, takes me to a long forgotten archetypal place that I never want to leave again.
Like dark memories…and ancient, too. Very nice, Karen.
They are NOT “low quality”, but just wonderful. Many years ago, I did the Coulonge. And it is indeed a nice river to paddle.
these are super extraordinary… I love the light that shimmers through the darkness
Yeah, you may have guessed that I would say this but, screw “technical quality” ‘cuz these are fan-frickin’-tastic. This is Vision with a capital V.
Great artists at their best are always pushing conceptions of “technical quality” and this is exactly what your are and what you do.
Wonderfully high quality to my eye…this is a beautiful series, Karen!
I love the way they feel like charcoal drawings. It’s as if we can see your hand in them. Beautiful.
Beautiful and deep..especially the one on top.
A truly wonderful series – full of atmosphere
Stunning and moody, very beautiful.
Yes, lovely murk! Timeless and stirring.
Aaah; so beautiful!
Wonderful darkish images. I like them very much.

Le partage du samedi… La notion de basse qualité est bien subjective. J’adore !
Oh don’t worry about “low quality”, Karen, these images look good to me! And I especially like the one at the top – incredible mood and atmosphere! Adrian
I really like them, Karen. Dark and beautiful.
Very different! I love the dark feel. Thanks for sharing them!
Moody, Beautiful, Sublime……shall I carry on?? these are really terrific photos Karen. Any plans for a book?
Beautiful images, glamourous mood. I especially like RiviereCoulonge3! Have a good day.
I really love these images! 🙂
Beautiful, Karen! Basic time, fire, nature, soul… Love them ❤
