After the (Freezing) Rain
An ice crowned seed head from my garden.
Tiny icicles on the brink of melting away.
Mosaic patterns forming on the flora as the ice crowns begin to surrender to the warmth of the sun.
How quickly we can shift here from powdered snow, to rain, to freezing rain and back again.

Observing the changes in the landscape. Shifts, slow and subtle, others without restraint. As much as I adore summer it is autumn (and winter) when I most love to make photographs.

Playful
These little transforming seed heads each seem to have their own bit of personality when you look at them closely. I am absorbed with the details of form, depth of field, and light (of course!). And they are very cooperative subjects. It is really the breeze that is most playful.

Subtle Shifts
Mixing it up, just a little. I confess that I love this first image. The shifting colour tones and the soft focus of the form make me think of the seasons flying by. Sigh.

Snowfall
The first snow fell overnight. It’s melting away already and the light is flat and almost shadowless. Sometimes that kind of light is perfect.
