September has brought cooler mornings and the odd envelope of ephemeral fog.
Once the fog burns off there are shimmering misted fields beckoning to dampen your feet.

I have been following Karen´s blog for a while now and every single post containing her photos is a feast for the eyes. If like myself you crave a bit of peace and retreat, seems she´s found a place for all of us to go to.
Draw&Shoot – I don´t know how she draws but she sure can shoot:)
Ok, I think I am jealous about the shimmering misted parts. I DO notice the walking grass covered in that way, but never the center of the tree place, that has the weeds and flowers. Is that showing in the image from the camera perspective or is it reaaaaaaaaaaaally like that?!?! It’ very exciting!
Elisa, It is a field of weeds and flowers, and it’s beside a treed area so that’s why there is a dark background to some of them. so I think it’s as you describe! 🙂
Thank you.
this series is my favourite! the details, lighting, composition – WOW! ephemeral is the perfect word to describe them – I love them all. your ability to capture the beauty of autumn in an almost monochromatic fashion is a rare talent!! it’s unique.
Love the first one, so amazing!
Thank you!
What the beautiful images.
(But, top-one I thought “this must be that Trifid” 🙂 )
I didn’t get close enough to find out! Thanks, Yoshizen.
Astonishingly beautiful, Karen – the droplets in the morning sun and then the butterfly – gorgeous! K
Hi Kathleen, thank you. The butterfly was a bonus.
Lovely! The last one is my favorite.
Thank you, Karen.
Beautiful, Karen! 🙂 It sure is a wonderful morning.
It was a wonderful morning, thank you Nandini.
Those fields are beautiful! I love the contrast between the fresh greens and that beautiful wintry white. Yay, more snow photos to come 🙂
I hope the snow holds off for a little while, Trish! But yes, things are changing…
Thank you.
Poetic and delicate, like many of your photos.
Thank you Ninano, for your nice comment.
I’m getting excited for your winter posts already.
Well, hopefully not too soon! Thanks, James.
So beautiful!
Thank you, Samsara.

You somehow manage to find mist everywhere, but it is what you do with it that is so magical.
Thanks so much, Louis. It’s a joy to explore these places, I’m glad you share in the appreciation for them.

Oh no … seriously! WUNBERBAH!!!! Did you ever meet those lovely trees again that were in wraps? 🙂
Thanks, Gigi. Those trees were unwrapped in May, I need to go check in on them! 🙂
Fog, one of those mystical, magical, natural surprises-clouds come to Earth. You’ve captured it.
I love those moments! Thank you, Elena.
They are magical, these moments, aren’t they? When you wake up the butterflies… 🙂 Do I need to say that it’s a lovely series? Well, it certainly is!
Waking up the butterflies; that’s so poetic! thanks, Sorin. 🙂

Outstanding, beautiful shots as usual – what I really like about your work is that it is of the world and quite often completely otherworldly.

Just love the atmosphere in these, Karen. 🙂 All beautiful.
Thank you, Inga.
Karen,
I love the first shot. I’d love a print of it! It reminds me of an ECM album cover.
Le Clown
I will put a print in a bottle and ship it down the river. Please watch for it! I’m not sure of the ETA.
Thank you!
Beautiful, like a dream..
