The lacy propellers of the maple keys have always reminded me of insect wings. When I started photographing them with shadows they kind of took on a life of their own with the wings doubling up and the stems turning into little antennae.Β Sometimes things come together in a way you don’t expect. Beautiful. I enjoy image 5 especially.
Thank you Elena. That image is Inspired by geese formation in flight. π
Love the lace like “wings”. Think of them as the fall butterflies, harbinger of winter rather than spring. Nice shots Karen!
Fall butterflies, I like that. I was thinking dragonflies.
Thanks Al! π
Stunning… such a subject, yet complicated captures… beautifully done!
Thank you, they sort of worked themselves out that way.
Those shadows have a such great quality to them
The shadows are what make it interesting I think, thanks James.

Wow, it’s beautiful.
Thanks Pedro. π
I love maple keys, I will forever be a boy throwing and watching them spin. I appreciate your study, the austerity and grace. Nicely done.
Thanks Noel for the poetic comment and appreciation! π
More beautiful, minimal photographs. Truly lovely.
Thanks Mufidah, your blog is really lovely, I will continue to explore it!
Thanks Karen, happy you like my blog too!
Really like this series of images. Beautiful light picks out the forms so well.
Thanks Julia! π
so delicate and beautiful…
thank you.
Lovely. They remind me of our Big Leaf Maple seed pods. So much fun to watch in the wind or to throw on a calm day.
