Flight of the Maple Keys

The lacy propellers of the maple keys have always reminded me of insect wings. When I started photographing them with shadows they kind of took on a life of their own with the wings doubling up and the stems turning into little antennae.Β  Sometimes things come together in a way you don’t expect. 1. Love the lace like “wings”. Think of them as the fall butterflies, harbinger of winter rather than spring. Nice shots Karen!

  2. I love maple keys, I will forever be a boy throwing and watching them spin. I appreciate your study, the austerity and grace. Nicely done.
