I couldn’t let the first day of the year pass without marking it with a few thoughts and images. I am so grateful for the support of the amazing people who are in my life and excited for what the new year will bring. This is kind of like a little reminder to myself to be strong, to stay on the creative path I have chosen and to always be thankful for what I have. It’s like a string around my finger.
Strength, for whatever lies ahead
Reach, for your wildest dreams
Reflect, on what you have and what you have learned
An adventure lies ahead. Thanks for joining me!

Oh, what a powerful image. To achieve this tone (beautiful black) must
needed a lots of work whether it was done in the dark room or even by digitally.
Thank you Yoshizen, a little digital tweaking. π
The solitary beauty of “Reach”. It speaks of winter..and hope.
I am hopeful. I wish you a wonderful year.
Love this one: your images and thoughts. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you Nandini, I wish you a wonderful creative year too.
I love the strength of trees, Karen. Just something about them and how they also reach for the sky. What a perfect way to illustrate your words. i wish you the best in 2012 and can’t wait to see where your creative path leads you.
Love the rootedness and reach of this post in word and image. Happy New Year Karen, nice to see you getting off to a great start!
Thanks Noel, Happy New Year to you!
love the 2nd image. very painterly and minimalist
I like trees, too. The lines of the leafless limbs are so interesting. Nice reflection there also.
These are easily my favorites you’ve posted. I’ve loved everything you’ve put up since winter really set in.
Thank you Posky, I appreciate that comment.
You’re welcome.
Also- tying back to your comment on my website–I would love to have a funeral photographer, if youβre interested. I can work the time of my death around your schedule if need be.
I like the stark monochromatic minimalism of the middle image.
