I have spent a bit of time playing with infrared photography. I love the ethereal quality and the grain this type of photography produces . And the light, such incredible light. Admittedly these images are a few years old but I still find them compelling. I haven’t taken any infrared pictures lately because these require film. Remember film? When was the last time you bought a roll of film? I really should…

These are so awesome! And so beautiful! This makes me want to buy an old film camera and set up a dark room… but I don’t know anything about dark room chemicals nor where to purchase them. Gorgeous photographs and I agree, the light in these compositions is magnificent and is what makes them so ethereal. So glad I stumbled upon your blog!
Hi Polly, thanks so much for your feedback. I’m exploring your blog 🙂
Hi Karen. My sister, Jo, is a photographer. She used to do a lot of stuff with infra-red film… when she still used film. I love it too! Now she is strictly digital. You’re photos are great. Keep sharing!
Thanks Petra! What is Jo’s website? I’ll check it out.
Amazing photos. I couldn’t stop staring at them.
Thanks so much!
Great!
Thank you Itana.
love the affect. haunting. more Swedish than Canadian
Thank you David.
these are beautiful. love the grain and the ‘ethereal’ feel….
btw some people do go the IR conversion route in digital age. were u ever tempted ?
Abu Zar, thank you. I do have an older digital SLR that I have considered for this purpose. I have not converted it yet but I probably will at some point.
Of course it won’t be the same, but it could be an interesting tool for exploration.
There is a very different feel here, a texture in the air even…beautiful.
