A robin harvesting tiny crabapple berries. This is perhaps a poor quality photograph, deeply cropped and made from far away, but the timing was pretty good…
This is beautiful, Karen! Dream-like colors and great softness:-) I think it would look gourgeous printed in a large format on heavy high quality matte paper, like Hahnemuhle photo rag or Epson Enhanced.
All the best:-)

Oh I don’t care about the quality, Karen, let’s forget all about the quality!!! >>> this is an absolutely wonderful image, more like a painting really, and all the better for that!
I think that we often place too much importance on “quality”, when what really matters is how an image grips us emotionally, how it gets to us – and this certainly gets to me! Adrian
Depends on what you mean by quality, no? This embodies the spirit of the moment and transmits so much more than a technically proper photo might. This is more a photo for the ages, for people to read much into, rather than an image that makes someone say “Great, that’s really sharp, how did they do that?” and pass right along.
I just adore the feeling evoked here- what lissome beauty, indeed- such a lively, yet delicate moment. Your photography feels so much like poetry, to me- so emotive, and also rather evocative of perhaps a bit of Monet, and so alive with the pulse of nature- silken, swimming, moving beauty. I am just so awed by your work. Always a pure delight. Smiling cheers to you,
etherial
thank you. : )
like a beautiful tapestry
I like that you see it that way, thank you! The fabric of summer…
🙂
Great, Karen! Thanks so much for sharing this aerial ballet!!! 🙂
Ah, the possibilities if one had wings… Thanks very much for your comment, Fabio!
That’s true, Karen! My pleasure, as always! Have a great day! 🙂
PS: I lived for some years in Hamilton, ON.
Hamilton, eh? Not too far!
It would not so magic if it was sharp. There is intrigue in the picture and it is in your style.
Thank you, Alexander, I’m happy you think so. The little robin worked out nicely, anyway.
Just marvelous! You watch closely.
Thank you, Heidi. Yes, I probably spend too much time bird watching but they are so delightful!
I can’t find anything wrong with the quality.
Well, a little out of focus and noisy but somehow it works OK for the subject. thank you, Ken.
Beautiful, Karen. It feels like a dreamy afternoon, under a shade tree, looking up, squinting and witnessing this wonderful little marvel.
I like your imagery, Elena. It was more me peering over the hedge at the neighbours tree, but not too far off your suggestion…
Thank you! : )
It’s beautiful. Love the little feet. 😉

Yes, the feet are cute! : ) Thanks very much, Cynthia.
You captured the same tone like the other purple birds images !
Beautiful !
Thanks, Yoshi!
Just wow!!!
A lucky moment! : )
Stunning – how on earth did you capture such a perfect moment – magical – K
Thank you, K!
I was using the continuous high speed mode on my camera but mostly I got lucky.
Truly beautiful.
Much thanks, Rabirius.
Poor quality … but very beautiful atmosphere ! Nice catch 🙂
Someone else used the term Lo-Fi, I think that’s a good description. Thank you, Mathias!
I really like this Karen. It would make for pretty wallpaper!
Hi Marina, thank you, I’m glad you like it!
Karen…this is gorgeous!
Thanks very much, Belinda!
Nothing like a getting the timing perfect on a photo…a feeling of zen. Beautiful.
I was pleased when I saw how this came together. Thank you, Randall.
timing is everything – great shot – beautiful !
I like that it’s completely green for some reason, the bird’s placement within the shot. And the timing ‘is’ spot on!
The framing is almost impossibly good – it’s like a oneirological event, printed straight from the mind. I love the quality!
magnifique…cela me touche vraiment..
I think the “poor quality” makes this photo so splendidly dreamy!
I have to make a firm protest: This is not poor quality, but excellent. So special in its expression. I love this one, Karen.
I don’t know about quality but this was the best moment to click…:)

I wouldn’t say poor quality at all and indeed the LoFi feel of the image just enhances the experience for me. Beautiful.
I think it is beautiful because of its simplicity. A really lovely captured moment 🙂

I love this picture. It reminds me of Indonesian shadow puppetry.
That’s an interesting connection. This image seems a little more exotic to me now… : )
Fantastyczne!!! Bravo….. : )
I kind of like the retro, dreamy feel to this – lovely!
Yes great timing indeed.
so impressive silhouette and beautiful moment…great shot!!
Whoa, that’s aownderful ethereal haze you captured there. The picture evokes the feeling of a fading dream that one would try to grasp. So long!
Yes, so many comments expressing the delicacy and magic of the image…. lovely!
I really love your work!
just beautiful…
It’s beautiful! 🙂

Perfect.
This reminds me of “Living Daylights” by Billy Hassell, because of the perfectly timed moment and the backlighting. http://visualfling.com/2014/02/19/billy-hassell-illuminating-nature-exhibit-at-tyler-museum-of-art/
